On behalf of the officers of the RCG BOCES Teachers’ Association I would like to welcome you to the new school year. It will be one like we have never experienced before. Now more than ever it is important for us to care for ourselves, our students and for each other. 


Our Association is committed to working with the administration to ensure that we are opening our locations in the safest possible way. We will support efforts designed to achieve this goal, and we will point out areas where we are falling short.

The State Education Department announced the cancellation of the June 2020 administration of Regents Exams and today (April 7th, 2020) released guidance on modifications to requirements for students to graduate and earn their high school diplomas, credentials and endorsements. In addition, due to the school closures related to COVID-19, the Department delayed the rollout of state assessments aligned to the grades 3-8 Next Generation Learning Standards. Please see attached memorandum from Shannon Tahoe, Acting Commissioner, an NYSED FAQ reference, and links below for further information.

Our election and primaries will potentially be impacted with the current restrictions to public access. Sign up for absentee balloting now to protect your right to vote.
 
 
 
In regard to the 2020 Census, it is imperative that we still need to complete the census. Here is the link to do so. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to also complete this important task. Our state funding will be diminshed without all persons counted.
